The Cros-Lex Pioneers hosted the Bronco’s from North Branch Wednesday evening and came away with big home victory to improve their record to 10-2 on the season. The Pioneers have been strong in the baker games this year and tonight was no different. Cros-Lex jumped out front early by winning both bakers. 1st game was 200-191 with Seniors Nick Youtsos and Robert Smith along with Junior Skyler Hyvonen leading the way. 2nd game was 210-156. This time it was Senior Logan Miller, Senior Robert Smith and Sophomore Ben Thorton doing the heavy lifting for the Pioneers. Moving into the head to head games Cros-Lex had a 10 point lead and would build on that by taking 3 of 5 games. Senior Robert Smith was high scorer with 203. Junior Skyler Hyvonen was next with 189 and Sophomore Ben Thorton took his point with a 179 game. In the 2nd set of head to head games, The Pioneers finished off the Broncos by sweeping all 5 games. However, each game was not decided until the final frames. Senior Logan Miller lead the scoring with a 202 game. Junior Skyler Hyvonen was very consistent tonight and added a 183 game. Sophomore Joddy Higgins took his point with a 182 game. This was a big team effort by the Pioneers. Super proud of the boys for hanging tough against a very good North Branch team.
