The pioneers played host to the Richmond Blue Devils on Wednesday evening and came away with an impressive win at home. The Pioneers jumped out front to an early10 point lead after winning both baker games and never looked back. The first baker was 239 to 168 with Senior Logan Miller leading the way by striking in the 5th and striking out in the 10th. Junior Skyler Hyvonen also struck in both of his frames, the 2nd and 7th. The second baker was 171 to 124. This time sophomore Ben Thorton set the tone by striking in his two frames the 1st and 6th. Senior Logan was solid again in the anchor position. The Pioneers continued to roll moving into the head to head games by taking all 5. 4 out of 5 pioneers rolled games over the 200 mark. Senior Nick Youtsos led the attack with an outstanding season high game of 266. Junior Skyler Hyvonen thru a great game of 238 which was also his season high game.Senior Logan Miller joined in with a 211 game and Senior Robert Smith pitched in with a 203 game. The total pin fall for this set was 1088 and lifted the Pioneers to a league high scratch game to this point in the season. This was enough to secure the win early for Cros-Lex. The Pioneers finished out the match by taking 3 out of 5 games. High scores were sophomore Ben Thorton 191. Senior Logan Miller 182 and Junior Skyler Hyvonen 181. With the win, The Pioneers improved their record to 8 – 2 on the season.
