The division 2 regional tournament was held in Gaylord February 28th & 29th. Both varsity squads were going into the tournament as BWAC League champs and were hoping that success would carry over into the regional tournament. The team event was held on Friday the 28th with both squads getting off to a good start but then struggled to maintain any rhythm or consistency. The boys squad finished in 9th place out of 15 teams with a total pin fall of 3393. The cut line for the boys was 3678. The girls squad finished in 6th place out of 14 teams with a total pin fall of 3093. the cut line for the girls was 3274. The singles event was held on Saturday the 29th. The Pioneers saw 2 seniors place in the top 10 and advance to the state finals on March 7th in Waterford. Senior Katelyn Heiden place 2nd overall out of 81 bowlers with a total pin fall of 1163. Katelyn averaged 193 over a 6 game set. Senior Logan miller placed 5th overall out of 83 bowlers with a total pin count of 1190. Logan averaged 198 over a 6 game set. Congratulations to both Katelyn and Logan for the outstanding efforts and good luck next weekend in the state finals.!
