The Pioneers traveled to Lapeer on Thursday to take on a tough North Branch team on very challenging lane conditions . Cros-Lex jumped out in front by winning the 1st baker game 180 to 136. Senior Logan Miller was key for the Pioneers by striking out in the 10th frame. Cros-Lex dropped the 2nd baker game 145 to 136 but had enough pin count to take the baker series. Going into the 1st set of head to head games the Pioneers had a 6 to 4 lead. Cros-Lex. won 3 out of 5 of the games but North Branch would take total pins giving them a 10 to 9 margin going into the last set of games. Top scorers for the Pioneers were Junior Skyler Hyvonen with a 199 game and Sophomore Kenny Allan with a 176 game. The Pioneers did not fare well in the last set of games dropping all 5. Top scorer for the Pioneers was Senior Robert Smith with a 185 game. The challenging conditions got the better of Pioneers. Hopefully we have a very short memory on this loss, but use it as a valuable learning experience moving into the 2 half of the season.
