Croslex came up big Thursday against new league rival North Branch. Coach Kennealy was impressed with the Pioneers team defense. “It was as good as he’s seen a team play since last years game against Imlay City.” Guard play was spot on with Connelly and Rankin setting the tone early. Martinez, M. Sheldon, Hillock, and Moseworth came in and provided the same energy and intensity. As proud as Coach Kennealy was with how the team played defensively he felt that two players stood out on the night. Selena Macias and Kobi Stribling took turns guarding the Bronco’s top player. Kennealy said, “They pressured her all night and didn’t give her any good looks.” If you were to ask both Macias and Stribling they would tell you that they had plenty of help from their teammates. “It was a fun night of basketball” said, Coach Kennealy. “I felt that we had two very good days of practice and all 18 girls were ready to play.” “The Sheldon twins came off the bench and played their best basketball of the year.” CrosLex was led by Rankin with 14 points and Schultz with 9. CrosLex will be home against Richmond on Monday.
